So like, I saw this scene and suddenly remembered I wanted to talk about the people behind the  chat logs. Although by this point I think most of the viewers already have a good idea of the identity behind the users, but I’ll make a point about it anyway.

Kanra: The screenshot above kinda give it all away. He is most likely Izaya. As we know from ep 6, Izaya is the one that started calling Kadota dotachin, although others around Kadota also calls him that. Stuff about Kanra –

• calls Kadota dotachin
• likes rumours
• knows various information around the place
• likes to speak in a somewhat vague patern
• likes to tease people
• has admin privileges in chat

I would just like to point out that, Izaya took interest in Mikado in ep 3, even though Mikado just moved in to the city and never met Izaya before. If they had actually met through the chat, everything would make sense.

Tanaka Tarou: Mikado. Just…yeah… did I even need to point this one out? Stuff about Tarou for kicks –

• just moved to Ikebukuro
• wimpy personality
• extremely boring and normal name, which is the exact opposite of Mikado’s real name
• experienced everything that Mikado experienced. Like come on, could you get anymore obvious?? If he turns out to be Kida or Anri, I am going to ragequit

I love how they mixed up the genders on purpose

Setton: This one was not so obvious, until episode 7 came around. Then the ray of enlightenment shone upon me, and bestowed great conspiracy into my mind. I would have to say that she is Selty (the headless one). Stuff about Setton –

• Selty -> Setton ?? Pronounciation-wise, they are quite close
• speaks in a rather reserved way, possibly to reflect her feminine nature?
• seems to know Shizuo personally
• her pic has a headphone, maybe to symbolize that something is covering her head (eg. a helmet), or maybe to show that she cannot hear (b/c she doesn’t have ears)??
• believes in aliens (lol)

Saika: She is one wild card. I honestly have no idea who she is. Judging from what I’ve seen in Baccano, the producer throws random characters in sometimes, and maybe this is one of the case. There is the suspicion that she is a girl named Haruna, as pointed out near end of ep 6, but that doesn’t say all that much. Also, from her monologue above, it sounds like she wants to be loved by someone strong. And the mother/laughter thing? I would actually venture to guess that it actually has sometime to do with her having a mother complex/longing for a motherly figure.

So yeah, that’s about it for the chat logs. Oh, and the ep 8+9 reviews? …母、母、母母母母、母母母母母母母、
